Large intestine cancer

A cancer of the large intestine almost always develops from an outgrowth (a benign polyp) of the mucosa. As it progresses, this cancer invades the deep layers of the intestinal wall.



  • Changes in fecal habits that have lasted for a few weeks (eg constipation or diarrhea)

  • Blood in the stool

  • Abdominal discomfort, such as intestinal gas, cramps or stomach pain

  • feels that the intestines are never completely empty or that they constantly want to defecate
